Description
Addressing postural control in the frail elderly population can be very challenging. More often than not, therapists opt to provide compensatory strategies versus treating the condition causing the postural deficit.
This workshop is designed to provide the clinician with the framework to provide basic evaluative and treatment approaches to postural control as well as the tools to provide corresponding documentation of
the skilled services provided.
Objectives
- Identify medical necessity of addressing postural control.
- Identify essential evaluation techniques regarding posture.
- Explore treatment approaches for pelvic, trunk and head control.
- Identify basic principles of postural Compensation.
