Description

 Impaired ROM can affect almost every facet of daily life for an elderly person. Being able to accurately measure and document gains can be vital for the reimbursement of skilled services.

This workshop will review ROM basics as well as suggestions for challenging patients.

Objectives
  1. Identify medical indications of skilled intervention for UE ROM deficits.
  2. Demonstrate proper use of goniometric tools.
  3. Demonstrate proper ROM evaluation techniques for the upper extremities.
  4. Identify primary treatment techniques for ROM impairments in the UE's.
  5. Identify indicating factors for modality use as well as contraindications.
  6. Explore documentation strategies that reflect skilled service.
