Description
For many of the elderly, the golden years are
not very golden. They are often challenged with a variety of medical conditions that not only affect their health but their function. Occupational Therapists have much to offer these persons. Medicare is the most frequent reimbursement source of OT services. Therefore, it is critical to not only understand the disease process and medical treatment, but be able to describe and document the medically necessary strategies utilized with these individuals.
The focus of this workshop is to assist the clinician in gaining a better understanding of the disease processes most frequently seen in the geriatric population, identify the medical indications of OT services and articulate this in their documentation.
